Well, Dennis' "vacation" was extended a few extra days last week. He DID go back to work on Tuesday, after having taken Monday off to have a biopsy done. His PSA had been rising and was a bit higher than it should be, so they did a biopsy to make sure there wasn't a problem. (Don't have the results yet, but the doctor said everything looked normal.) Biopsy went fine, Dennis worked Tuesday - no problem, then after supper he started having chills. His fever soared up to 103. The doctor had told him not to worry if it got to 100. The prophylactic antibiotic shot he had been given before the procedure was supposed to take care of any infection that might result. However, there was a 1/2% chance of developing a serious infection...so, if his temp reached 103, go directly to the ER. So we did. His fever stabilized and they sent us back home after about 3 hours of laying around waiting (and a dose of antibiotic). I took Dennis back to the doctor who did the biopsy on Wednesday morning. He prescribed 10 days of a strong antibiotic and told him not to return to work before Saturday...and if his fever spiked again to return to be admitted to the hospital. Thankfully, that wasn't necessary. The medicine kicked in and Dennis was able to return to work on Saturday.
Saturday night, we went to watch Jessica in "Annie." It was really good! I am very impressed with the quality of the production: sets, costumes, singing and acting. Fun times! Paula and Eric had come down to see it, too. We had a group of 11 that sat together to cheer Jessica on. She did a great job...loved her Jersey accent! We enjoyed the outing and getting to visit with the Jones again!
Monday holiday today (woo-hoo)! It was nice to sleep in. After a late lunch, we butchered the does that Dennis killed week before last. About four hours later, with weary backs aching, we put the last of it in the freezer. So nice to have our meat for the year! Now back to work tomorrow and life goes on.......
Jer 30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
