A Time to Rejoice

We have a few quiet days before leaving on our mini-vacation. We plan to leave Sunday after lunch to go to Big Bend for a few days, Lord willing. We are really looking forward to some time of rest and relaxation. We love that part of the state, too. It is so wild and remote. The weather is supposed to be perfect. We're hoping to be able to see some bears...and maybe some desert bighorn. We plan to come home through the hill country...hoping that there might be some bluebonnets blooming already.

Dennis is doing fine from his stroke. When we visited his cardiologist, no AFib had registered on his loop monitor. It took a while for him to get regulated with his new BP medication, but that's doing well now too. He still has to go back to his cardiologist in a month or so to have a chemical stress test/PET scan done to make sure his heart function is normal. I really don't think they'll find any other problems. He did break a tooth last week and had to go to his oral surgeon to have it pulled and have an implant post put in. His mouth was pretty sore for about a week, but it is finally back to normal.

We helped Rick and Amber get moved into their new rent house week before last. Joe and Leanne came over to help, too. I mostly just tended to the kiddos. Everything went well, and they are loving their new space. Archer especially loves watching the deer out behind their backyard. It is such a good location and so much roomier than where they were. I'm so glad they were able to make the move.

Last week, Craig and Carol brought Houston and Sue over for lunch and a visit. We all went out to eat, then came back here for dessert. It was really good to see all of them! We really appreciate Craig and Carol for taking the time to facilitate our visit! It had been a good while since we'd been able to visit with her folks. It had been even longer since we've seen her and Craig! It is wonderful to spend time with special friends!

Sunday night, Warren, Linda, Belinda, and Charles all came down for a sibling get-together. We SO enjoyed their visit! We are hoping to make it an annual event. We stayed up way too late every night, but it was worth it. Charles and Belinda brought a beautiful "hostess gift" that Charles had made. I love it! They also gave each of us a pen that he'd crafted. We look forward to the next time we can all get together again!

I hope to be able to have some pictures to share from our trip when we return home. Until then, stay safe and enjoy your blessings!

Ps 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: (NKJV)
